I opened my business in January 2016 and was originally with E-On, but two weeks after opening I got a call from, who I thought was an independent energy broker, who convinced me to switch electricity supplier. Later, I was informed that they were unable to take meter readings until a smart meter had been installed in my unit.

11 months later and the only bill I’d had from them, was based on estimated readings and was for over £8,500! (I have a couple of lights, a music system and some fans/heaters and the unit is only used for classes 23 hours per week!) Every time I rang them they just fobbed me off and simply told me to ‘put some money aside’.

Pickwick Cross was recommended to me and I asked for assistance in getting to the bottom of the matter. They went above and beyond to help me out, getting authority to speak on my behalf, complaining to the supplier and even getting the contact details for the CEO of the company!

Within two weeks, I had a proper bill, based on actual readings – £492 compared to the £8,500 I was originally issued! Furthermore, they didn’t charge me for their time, simply the cost of the phone calls!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pickwick Cross to any business needing help and advice in relation to their utilities, and when I’m finally out of my five-year contract, I will seek further advice and switch on their recommendation.
